Last week, I had my first trip as a vegetarian and I sure did look differently at a restaurant’s menu. Luckily, it was very easy to find vegetarian food in the center of Berlin, and I was surprised by the number of vegan options. In this blog, I’ll tell you in which cool restaurants I had delicious vegetarian food and in which your meat-eating travel buddy will have a good time too.
Read here why I became a vegetarian.
Good Morning Vietnam
In this small but cozy restaurant, Vietnamese goodies are made. Personally, I can’t get enough of Asian food, so this restaurant had a hard job to disappoint me. On the menu were a few vegetarian and vegan options, but in the small letters on the bottom stood that almost all dishes could be transformed into vegetarian/vegan-friendly. My raw spring roll was on my request made without egg (taste much better than it sounds!) and I ate delicious tofu curry. Main dishes are around 10 euros.

House of Small Wonder
The perfect place for breakfast, lunch or brunch! At the entrance, you will be welcomed by a lot of green. A long, elegant stairway, surrounded by plants, will bring you to the first floor where you can eat and drink. This little restaurant has a lot of Japanese influences and they only use organic, local ingredients.
Although there are only a few vegan options, House of Small Wonder is a very nice place to eat or drink something. For breakfast you will pay over ten euros.

This restaurant is highly recommended on among others Tripadvisor, and deservedly. The little light that the lanterns gave, created a cozy atmosphere and the small details of this restaurant were incorporated in the menu and the toilet (that makes me happy!). Umami has many vegetarian choices on its menu, but vegans have multiple options too. Don’t forget to order a tea afterward, because they make really awesome ones here!

Last but not least: Curry sausages! It doesn’t get any more German. I did not expect a vegan option on the menu of the famous curry sausages kiosk Konnopke’s Imbiß, but it tasted like more! Under the railway bridge is a tiny building and I think there’s almost always a row in front of it. You don’t have to wait for long though, because they make the sausages in a fast past. Vegan sausages are €2,80 (normal ones €2,20).

There are without a doubt many more nice places to eat vegetarian or vegan in Berlin. Those four places are been approved by us (:
